After eight years living in Europe, Chelsey Butterfield was ready for a new adventure. With no ranching experience, she and her husband traded city life for the wide-open spaces of Utah and started Golden Hour Ranch.
What began with a little research into homesteading, chickens, and self-sufficiency quickly grew into a full-fledged ranching adventure. As first-generation ranchers, the Butterfields learned the ropes one calving season at a time, facing plenty of challenges along the way.
Today, Golden Hour Ranch is home to Highland cattle and offers horseback riding experiences that give visitors a taste of ranch life.
For Chelsey, ranching has brought more than a new career. It has given her confidence, independence, and the opportunity to raise her children with a hands-on connection to agriculture.
