Six generations deep, Oakdale Farms was established in 1866 under the guidance of Erica’s great-great-grandfather a Norwegian immigrant. Over the last 15 decades, the farm has weathered its share of trials. Despite facing the challenges of a tornado and her husband’s leukemia battle, the family’s legacy stands the test of time.
Erica Sawatzke’s powerful narrative embodies the spirit of FarmHER, demonstrating her unwavering determination to raise turkeys destined for Thanksgiving tables across the nation.
