Gobble Wobble to a Turkey Farm in Minnesota

This Thanksgiving season, we’re thankful for the launch of the new season of our TV show and the opportunity to meet more extraordinary FarmHers. But turkey FarmHer Erica Sawatzke wants everyone to know turkey time isn’t reserved only for November.

In the heart of the midwest, we gobble wobbled to Erica’s home, Oakdale Farm located in west central Minnesota. She is a sixth-generation woman in agriculture.

Erica farms alongside her father and husband, although her husband also teaches high school agriculture making her the primary farmer at their operation. They grow corn and soybeans and raise light hens (turkeys).

Did you know in 2022 American farmers like Erica produced 210 million turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner? That’s a value of 7.1 billion in turkeys.

Stay tuned for updates on all FarmHers we had the pleasure of filming for the brand new season of FarmHer coming in 2024.
